Pretty spiffy, I must say. It's a heavy mf'r too, I'd have to guess 9-1/2 lbs., maybe? Ebony board is slick, nice feel. Neck has that hybrid feel - rounded slim-taper, if that makes sense. Not as thick as my 50's rounded SG Standard, but not slim either. It's just right, actually.

I did have to do a bit of setup work, however. Don't know what monkey worked on it, whether it was the previous owner or a cracker jack tech, but the strings were literally laying on the fretboard low, and truss rod jacked up to up-bow city. I think I've got it dialed in, we'll check it tomorrow.. I've got a little touch up soldering as well, the bridge pick-up pot has a loose wire. I wiggled some things around and it's fine, (Distortions sound killer in this thing), but needs touched up. The wire used in these and the ESP branded pots are kinda shitty, honestly. Might just upgrade the electronics. All in all, killer guitar!

Congrats! I had a 99 Edwards Sykes; had a fairly fat neck, a little beefier than a 59 profile. It was over 10 lbs; big monster. Ended up with an Aldrich in the bridge. Much better than the DD IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised if it went 10lbs. It's definitely got some heft!

Love my Edwards - really want another one.…an RR. Just locked in my Chubtone and paid my deposit so I figure I’ll wait.

This guitar is on "the list" lol

I've been searching for a late 90s early 00s one of these forever, its just never lined up

It's been on my bucket list for several years, actually. This, or a white LP Custom. I just never trusted any sellers on Ebay in Japan for a new one. They have all kinds of shenanigans going on with people stealing each other's pics, and not actually having the guitar. I know there's legit sellers, but Covid really slowed down availability last couple years. Never found the right one in the US. This one is pretty much like new. Got it on Reverb, and the guy was actually 120 miles south, so I got it in a day.

That's exactly why i've never pulled the trigger.

They’re all legit sellers; but this is what they do: one of the main stores gets one in, like TC Gakki, and 5-6 of these eBay guys go down and take their own pics and mark their prices 20% more than the store, and each of them lists on eBay. The problem is if 2 of them sell it at the same time, the first one to the store wins. Lol. So you do take a chance on buying from them. I’m 5/5 on buying them though…and they show up at my door no more than 7 days later. The stores won’t ship most of the time.
