Man I can't put this thing down! I sold my last USA Peavey Wolfgang to help pay for this and I was starting to regret selling it until I had this on in my hands. I FREAKING LOVE THIS GUITAR!!!!!!!!!! Here's a couple pics of my past loves and the Ivory Wolfgang that I sold to help fund the new EVH Wolfgang

I just picked up an Axis and I love it. I was wondering, is the neck the same on your EVH Wolfgang as it is on the EB Axis?

Very nice looking guitar. Enjoy....

I have an Axis and an EVH .. they are very, very different necks. Axis is a thicker, skinnier neck, with bigger frets and rounder radius. The EVH is wider, flatter with a very straight radius and small frets.

I think they're both great though, just different.

The thing that always turned me off from the PV Wolfgangs was the small frets. I love the neck profile on them though. I've never played an axis, so it sounds like I would like the necks on them. I do like thicker necks.

Is that a necessary comment? "WTF are you smoking dude?" Really??

Why not just say...The frets on the Peaveys are actually bigger than the EBMM or EVH models

I hate when people try to make others look stupid

Sorry...

carry on

Try to make others look stupid?

99% of the people who have owned wolfgang peavey models have never said the frets are small. The fuck does asking a rhetorical question have to do with stupidity?

Not smoking anything. Smaller might have been an inaccurate word. They are narrower and taller I tend to like medium jumbo frets or jumbo frets. The medium jumbo measure 6130: (.106" x .036"). The PV Wolfgangs have 6105: Modern narrow and tall; (.090" x .055").

I don't know about that. I have an old Wolfgang and the frets are definitely small. No where near a jumbo. Maybe they changed during production?

Peavey used Dunlop 6105 fretwire - the Narrow & Tall. Not jumbo by any means. You want jumbo, go look at an Ibanez RG. Big difference.

The EVH frets are definitely noticeably smaller than the Peavey.

The EVH frets are really, really small. I sold my USA Stealth because of that. Great sounding guitar, but I couldn't bring myself to refret it, and I just didn't bond with it like I thought I would.

The neck i owned for 4 years was a pat-pending neck? Not sure, i was always under the assumption they were all the same size throughout all models of custom shop/specials.

I like the feel of the new fender wolfgangs neck wise more than peavey models, but much prefer the fret-size of the wolfgangs versus the smaller ernie-ball feel type frets used in the fender wolfgangs.

Also the price difference is insane :dunno:

Are the neck pockets the same size on peavey and fender wolfgang's? i always wondered if a peavey neck would fit on the fender body as a replacement.

Happ New EVH DAY! Hear Woflie, Wolfie, nice Wolfie nice. .  Gorgeous top BTW

It's pretty!
I love the EVH Wolfgang.
I do like a lot of different neck shapes, but the EVH Wolfgang is one of the easiest to play I've tried so far!
Great guitar!

I don't post much just read but I just got this new USA EVH Wolfgang amber quilt top and so far I'm diggin it. I have had a Music Man Axis and four USA Peavey Wolfgangs and this one is is my favorite. The neck is alot different then my Peaveys and the vintage frets took a little getting used to. Top notch quality though and plays great!
