It's from 1992, and the body is in 100% PERFECT condition. When I mean perfect, I mean I can hold it up to the light and discover no scratch marks on it. It has a very nice 2 piece alder body and a medium C maple one-piece neck w/ skunk stripe. Frets were oxidized and rusted, because it apparently sat for years without being played, so I had to spend a good few minutes cleaning that up. In the process, some of the finish came off with de-stuck tape, but I'll make a separate thread about that. At the moment, it has stock mid/neck pickups with a DiMarzio PAF Pro in the bridge, but I'm thinking about changing them out. I replaced the knobs and switch with "aged" ones, in case you're wondering. It's nice to have another strat again.

Wow that is clean

Now scallope it :D Congrats

I'm thinking about potentially scalloping it and adding jumbo frets.  I don't think I will, though.

Congrats for the new old guitar, man! That guitar looks fantastic! How's the tone?

If I dig my Yngwie clone enough the SoCal Charvel neck is getting sent out :D

I had one in black back in the day that I LOVED but then the neck went pretzel on me. Bad memories flooding back...

Enjoy!

Thanks guys. Jaakko, the guitar sounds very resonant, but with the current setup, it's much more geared towards blues/rock. With the PAF Pro and 250k pots, it doesn't get that heavier sound that it normally would with 500k pots. However, I'm worried that if I install a custom switching setup that'll allow the bridge to see 500k, it'll be too bright. The neck single sounds like a regular, plain-jane single coil, IMO. I'll probably replace that with an Area 61 for (hopefully) a touch more output and texas-blues kinda vibe. I'll try to make clips sometime this week or something.

congrats! I have one of those as well. Mine is candy apple red. I have EMG 81 and SA with SPC added in place of tone knob. Fantastic guitar, was my #1 for several years. Enjoy.

Damn that thing looks clean for being 17 years old, nice score!

Very nice! Almost reminds me of the Andy Timmons signature Ibanez. I like the looks of this one better.

Wow, that looks like NOS that was just sitting in a warehouse somewhere congrats!

The guy I bought it from said he bought it for a part of his collection and kept it in storage for years, so your statement isn't far from the truth. :)
