NGD! For the AiC Cantrell fanboys this is a rare must have for tone chasers.

Yeah, I actually got this a little while ago so it’s not really a new guitar day but I grew up listening to the Alice In Chains Unplugged album, came out when I was 16 and still in high school. Always have been chasing Cantrell’s tones so I had to find out what acoustic he used for the majority of the performance and it was a brand new Westerly, RI made JF55 with factory electronics which was the Fishman pickup and preamp. His was a late 95 or early 96 made and this is what my NGD pictured here is. A near mint with all paperwork late 95 with the rare factory optioned Fishman electronics. This is actually my first real “acoustic” guitar and I got to say this one does play like an electric compared to many other acoustics I have played in the past. Here is some porn, Rosewood sides and back with Spruce top and ebony board. Attention to detail is amazing. Too bad Guild went out of business.
Edited to add Guild is still around but not really the same company anymore.

Have a buddy that swears by these things. I want to get around to checking one out eventually

Always been my favorite acoustic. Ive got a newer f55 and a matching d55 all because of that performance as well.

I have a D55 too, and it's my favorite acoustic I've ever played... I need to pick it up more often. Congrats on the score!

Fucking sweet!!!

I remember reading in an older guitar mag that Jerry didn’t actually own that, it was hanging on the walls of the venue where the filmed the Unplugged show and after strumming it a bit he asked if he could use it (I seem to recall him borrowing 2 different acoustics?) for the taping.

One of my dad’s buddies had a Guild acoustic, not even the same model, but the second I saw that Unplugged show I started bugging my dad to go hang out with him so I could play his Guild, where I’d just play “Nutshell” and the main part of “Down In A Hole” over and over and over.

Nice! 90s Guild acoustics are some of the finest guitars I've ever had my hands on. Especially the 12 strings. I wish I had the scratch back then to buy one.

My friend Eric was actually in Alice in Chains aka Jerry Cantrell band before Willian.(Wish they kept Eric way better IMO) Anyways he told me that Jerry has the guitar but it got smashed or someone put their foot through the top of it. Currently it's sitting in a case in pieces. Apparently Guild had a relationship with the producer of Unplugged so if you look at all the shows from that time frame most bands were using Guilds.
