Yeah they hooked definitely hooked me up with a killer top. Nicest one I've ever gotten. Almost too nice.
Quilt top on basswood
Chocolate maple neck and board
Even taper
Jumbo stainless frets

Mini toggle has the VA boost
Deep tobacco fade

Thanks. Your new orange Suhr is killer too btw. I've had a ton of figured top guitars but never one that nice. I got with Roy about it. They know me and my brother pretty well. We've probably bought 30 Anderson's between the two of us. This is the first one I've had in a while though. My brother got an Angel last year and I liked it so much I had to have one.

Awesome man, let us know how you like that wood combination ... If I am able to order another Anderson at any point in time that's what I plan on. Basswood , maple top, roasted maple neck.....I have mahogany, swamp ash, and alder so far . All sound great but I'm curious how basswood compares.

If I could only have 1 I'd most likely get maple/basswood with maple neck. Partly due to the light weight. Maple alder with maple neck is a close second. I have another Anderson on order, not an angel, that I originally specced maple / swamp ash but I switched to maple alder. I've never had a swamp ash guitar. As for maple/ mahogany I prefer a mahogany neck on a mahogany body. I remember Anderson, PRS and Suhr all saying they don't like putting maple necks on mahogany bodies. They all do now though so maybe they've changed thier opinion.

One of my Anderson's is Maghagony body/maple top with a roasted maple neck. Sounds amazing. Tight low end, great clarity, nice bark in the midrange and smooth highs. One of the best sounding guitars I have owned .......With that being said I own three Anderson's and they all sound sick.
I would suggest Swamp Ash if you haven't tried it yet, Its also clear and tight but is a little scooped in the mids , has midrange bark but more centered in the lower mids and has a cool presence and brightness to the tone that isn't harsh in any way. Its really good tone wood for rhythm , has a fast response and this in your face kinda thing going on . Also records very well because of its extreme clarity.

Yeah I thought about swamp ash after seeing that Andy wood's new favorite guitar was swamp ash with a maple neck. Being that he plays everything from heavy stuff to country I wanted to try it. Roy kinda talked me out of it and I switched to alder with maple top and maple neck. I don't have that one yet. Probably a couple months away. Something different. Not gonna be as fancy looking as this Angel. I actually almost changed the color on this angel because I was afraid it would look too nice but I stuck with the original order. Didn't want to bother them with what they had going on with the shutdown. It looks cool though.
