I was looking to buy me second Les Paul Custom (I have a SilverBurst) and I came across this guitar. It was available in pre-order so I had it reserved for me. When it came in they mailed me a couple of pictures and, well, I just had to buy this guitar.

Here are a couple of pics when it came in:

Since this is a brand new one, this one has the Richlite fretboard (as does my Silverburst), which I totally don't mind. I would have loved an ebony fretboard, but since that's no longer an option I can live with that ;)

I'm very looking forward to play some Friedman amps with this guitar when they come in

Awesome guitar Bart, good to see you posting on here as well!

I said it before, if only the back was black.. But this looks great as well, as you can see the grain in the wood.
Cheers, Bas (I bought a ESP ltd ZH-7 from you last year. Still love it!!)

SICK!!! (i hate richlite…) but SICK!!!

I admit it, an ebony fretboard would be awesome on this, I totally follow you on that (I had to get over it too ;) )

INCREDIBLE LPC!!!
I'm a Les Paul Man, to the End
and that is Gorgeous!!
:gethim: Damn Gibson to Hell for not offering
an Ebony Fretboard on such a Quality
Build, as an option.
That's my Only Complaint...I Love
Ebony boards....the Tones.

Looks awesome, i love it.
I had a ritchlite fb lp and i didnt mind it, enjoy.

Can someone explain the Ritchlite thing for me? Please & Thank you.

Bottom line is Gibson was raided, sued by DOJ and settled. Coupled with these events, Gibson announced a shift towards the use of Richlite - A man made paper based phenolic resin/cellulose compound.

Many people (myself included) see this as Gibson taking the easy/cheap road; just avoid certain woods and the potential headaches associated with importing them yet charge the same price.

The fact that other builders both large and small continue to offer Ebony and even more exotic woods seems to support the assertion that Gibson could easily have shored up any importing issues and still offered "the real deal".

I LOVE that top!! But would have loved it more with chrome hardware with the back and sides blacked out. Enjoy!!

This looks awesome and I may be the only one that thinks that the phelonic boards are actually superior (parker or steinberger anyone?).

Love that burst and the red back sets it off!

I got to say I like the contrast between the regular cherry finish and the black burst top as well. Also makes it more unique. Maybe I need to see it person but I like it in the pics. The top really pops.

Well back in the day when it was illegal I used to smoke a lot of it...

It really has a sick looking top and it a truly beautiful guitar...

this guitar is so full of win to me.

great top

unusual finish

not the same old finish combo.

what is not to like.

since the guitar is not super traditional , do not need to get uptight with the richlite finger board.
