Love that finish. I wish that I could find an R0 with a V3 neck in that color.

Nice top!

I like the Custombucker Plus I put in my R8 recently. Not nearly as shrieky as all the other Gibson humbucker plus models. Takes what I like about the Custombucker and adds a little bit more of everything.

CONGRATS!
Nice guitar.
I have a 2024 R9, it comes with Custombuckers like yours, I like them, I won't swap them, but I wouldn't swap to them either.
I really like the Bustbucker 1&2s in my Standard 50s, but I wouldn't swap the Custombuckers for them.

Yeah, Gibson pickups unfortunately suck. Try a set of SD Saturday Night Specials. They sound great in an LP

I have the MCP 2nd degree black belt pickups in my R8. They sound soooooooo good - vintage PAF with balls and the ability to easily do vintage or modern.

I really love the Slash Alnico 2.0 set. Classic PAF but with more gain than the ohm readings suggest while retaining clarity. My favorite hot PAF I've ever tried and own 3 sets now.

I've not played the SD Saturday Night Specials but I have played and recommend the SD Whole Lotta Humbuckers for a hot PAF that can also do heavier stuff. If the SNS pickups are anything like the WLH but hotter then.....................:2thumbsup::rock:

This is what I would go for or a Set of Dimarzio's Gravity Storm.

I've always wanted to try an MCP 2nd degree BB.

Congrats.
My recomendation for pickups is Thornbucker Plus. It works great in my '76 Custom and also in my FGN20 (modern style LP Custom). My buddy has them in 2017 R8 and they are excellent, fuller, not as bright and still enough tigh for heavier music. Neck Custombucker is on the other side just perfect.

That’s what I have in my R7 & it absolutely rips. Still rides in the PAF tonal range, but screams in front of a cranked amp so nicely.

Gorgeous LP, congrats!! My pick would be the Wagner Darkburst.. been digging the hell out of the set in my R7.

Congrats, it looks gorgeous!

If you ever wanted to veer in pickups that sort of retain the classic vibe, but with more hair and punch and can pull off modern rock stuff as well, while sounding more open than most Dimarzio options (save the 36th Anniv PAF neck and Norton perhaps), I'd recommend the Duncan set I settled on in my Randy Rhoads Burny Les Paul Custom:
SH-16 Custom/59 Hybrid bridge + Pearly Gates N neck.
And throw in a push-pull potmeter to split the Custom/59 Hybrid for awesome jangly sparkle.

Noice! Don’t swap the pickups unless they noticeably lack something you want to do. Otherwise let it be what it is.
