NGD: Goodall Ebony Standard

Was thinking of ordering one, but found this guy on the used market in virtually unplayed condition for less than 50% the cost of a new one. Couldn't say no to that. Best sounding and playing acoustic I've encountered. Photos and vids aren't mine; they're from The North American Guitar. They were the original dealer who spec'd the guitar. But it's this exact guitar.

Sitka top
Ebony binding everywhere
Jescar EVO gold frets

Guitar has a smooth top end. No zing (which I love). High b/e strings are heavy on the fundamental and the low E/A/D strings have lots of harmonics, with an airy mid-range. It's got perfect intonation across the neck, no dead spots, and the setup/fret work feels fantastic. Plays like an electric guitar.

Stunning! Never played Macassar Ebony back and sides but played a bunch of Mahogany and Rosewood with Sitka tops. What does it sound like relative to those?

Check out the videos. But compared to rosewood... I'd say the sound is a little less soft/round, if that makes any sense. Ebony is stiffer, which makes a great structure for an acoustic guitar. As I understand it, that helps prevent the top from losing energy. So the top can vibrate and project more. I have a similarly-sized Indian rosewood guitar here with Sitka top as well and this Goodall is much louder, note for note. Makes the other guitar sound like a toy.
