So a buddy of mine needed money this weekend to buy an amp he sold years ago back (an 84 jcm800), so he decided to sell one of his Gretsch guitars, so I picked this one up...

A Gretsch Chet Atkins 6120 Hollow Body.
(the one on the right).
It joins the family, (on the left is my Tennessee Rose).

Sounds like this:

(don't judge, this is an unlisted video I recorded just for my band, for my bass player to learn a new song)

Now I really gotta start selling some other stuff.........

Very nice. Love my Gretsch Brian Setzer hot rod. Can you tell me what the all the switches and knobs do on the Chet Atkins?

Mine only have a pickup selector and volume. I changed out the fullertons to TV Jones and got the height adjusted, loving those pickups...

So I get a call yesterday from the guy I bought this guitar from...
He says he misses it and wants to know if I'll let him buy it back from me.

Said he's got a lot of Corey Taylor shows coming up and needs more touring guitars.
I told him I was using for recording at the moment but would think about it.
I don't think I have an issue with selling the guitar back to him, but I know I won't be able to buy another one for the same price I got this one for...

Sucks eh.

At least its not your only Gretsch, but that does stink that he wants it back. Just confirms that the guitar is awesome though....

You paid $1,200 for it?! That's INSANE for that guitar.

Two thoughts.....

1.) Why do you HAVE to sell it back to him? You could always just say no.

2.) Why do you have to sell it back for the same price you bought it for? Tell him you want $2k for it!

Actually...
I paid less!

But if I'm gonna sell it to someone else, I don't have to break even on it hehe

It's not currently for sale...
I'm using it for recording purposes...but if and when I'm done...it could go back.
Hence why I am saying I won't be able to get another for the same price...

Just luckily I have another 18 or so guitars....and am extremely happy with my new Power jet Firebird!
