About a month ago I had a wreck on my bike and did a pretty good number on my left shoulder. I was told that it would take four to six weeks to heal up. It's still very tender, and carrying a Les Paul across it right now is not helping. So, I decided I needed a lightweight fixed bridge guitar in the meantime. Enter the Ibanez RG421PB. I have always like Ibanez guitars. Bought my first one back in 1993 when the RG470 was first released. (Wish I still had the guitar...) I didn't want to spend a lot of money on this one, as I plan to get back to the Les Paul as soon as I am able to. The stock Ibanez pickups are garbage. No surprise there. I had an Air Norton and Tone Zone laying in a pickup drawer... so, in they went. I think they sound great in this guitar. Definitely punches above the price tag now.
