NGD: Ibanez RGR5220MTFG 6 stringer

I lost count of how many super Strats I have..but it's a lot!

Man these pickups are dark sounding though...maybe I need to back them off a little height wise.

Settings that would normally cut my head off with treble pretty much remain bearable as I crank the high end...and am in STD tuning.

Swap them out with the pickups of your choice and whammo.

That's the one thing with these guitars; the stock pickups are awful. But then I always end up replacing the stock pickups in any guitar I buy so it's not a problem for me.

The stock pickups in the RG652AHM are ok, and these are Bare Knuckle pickups....I've never had a bad BK pickups. Maybe not the best match with a darker sounding guitar or maybe they just voiced for the brutz, lol ? \m/

I gots a 20th Anniv. RG550, never felt the need to change the PAF style pickups there (v1 etc.) but I've had later Ibby's with the v7/v8..and they were hot garbage.

Yeah I was mainly referring to the stock pickups in the Genesis models and the Dimarzios in the Prestige models. Of the BKP's I've tried, the only model that really excited me was the Painkiller. Which BKP's are in your RG?

This guitar is kind of haunting me now. Can't justify the price of a new one at the moment but might abandon my search for another Charvel in favor of something like this.
