I woke this morning and looked outside and it was a rainy miserable day so I decide to go up to the local sweet shop (Music store) just to brows around. I am a regular their since I play both guitar and drums (always something to be had). Around Christmas I was talking to a buddy of mine that works their in regards to an Ibanez MTM1 Mick Thompson guitar I had seen and how nice they seemed to be just in conversation. I have since purchased a Suhr Pro Series S2 which I really like because it is a very versatile awesome guitar. He mentions to me that they just got in on trade an Ibanez MTM1 Mick Thompson guitar and if would like to give it a test drive. What a nice guitar to play – I think you could fall down the stairs and the guitar would sound good on the way down. Needless to say I ended up walking out the door with the guitar and they gave me a great deal because I am a regular. That guitar just plays itself and I must say it plays as good if not better than the Suhr although you can get much different tones out of the Suhr. You just never know what’s going to happen day to day – I had no intentions of buying another guitar especially after buying the Suhr. I just can’t put it down.

Sorry for the long story – here are some pics.

I kind of thought that when I wrote it. The Suhr is a great guitar but the Ibanez really is a joy to play and is just a bit more aggressive for those moments when you want that hardcore sound and the price was right. I will in the future get another Surh for sure. :scared: :scared:

I kind of thought the inlay was kind of cool. The playability and sound of the guitar kind of overshadow the inlay for me anyways. When I played it in the store and it was very comparable to the Suhr I was sold on it. Just an addition to the collection. :D

May showers bring...........GEAR!

  It was a stormy day yesterday, and I just bought a couple new guitars
Time for a NGD thread methinks. Yesterday was... not stormy, but I did buy a new cab.

All hijacking aside, that's a killer guitar OP. I'm not overly crazy about that SEVEN inlay myself, but I'm sure it plays and sounds killer. I've always been intrigued by those fixed locking bridges as well... how's that working for you?

I would do a new guitar day, but I cant' do it until next month on my birthday, because here there is a law that you can't bring anything home until a month has passed, and that month happens to land on my birthday
NGD thread on my birthday :)

I picked up an MTM2 at Sam Ash on friday. I must say, when i first tried it i was impressed and honestly was hoping no one was watching me be all fanboi!!! I'm not much into sig guitars.

I too feel the same way about the guitar, its totally playable and you really don't want to put it down. Not bad for $500 after my bud over there hooked me up. Now all i need to do is get the real Mick Thompson Blackouts...

Congrats on getting the big brother to mine. I feel these guitars (MTM2) are undervalued, but thats alright with me!!!

The thing plays and sustains notes forever. It’s great. Still playing the shit out of it today, can’t put it down.
