I've been playing stratocaster with a Floyd Rose bridge for most of my life and really didn't get a long with any other type of guitars until now. I've finally turned to the dark side and purchased a custom shop guitar that's not a strat with a Floyd Rose.

Sorry about the crooked feet yo. I'm actually still at work and my boss was behind my back giving me that WTF look as I was starting this thread. That's why I got to cut and run. Below are some additional pictures of the guitar. The neck on this Les Paul is not too thin or thick. It's just about right and the guitar sustain for a long time. I need this guitar for ease of alternative guitar tuning. It's a pain in the ass to tune a Floyd Rose guitar to some other alternate tuning. I've been spending a lot of time playing this guitar more so than my CHarvel guitars.

Les Paul with my other Charvel guitar.

KONGRATZ. That thing looks beastly and heavy as fuck. Betcha there's no lack of sustain on that.

Shit yes. Welcome to the dark side. LPCs fuckin rule; mine's been my #1 for a couple months now.

HNGD!

Les Paul with my other Charvel guitar.

Best of both worlds right there.

Thank you for the kind words. The Les Paul is almost 2 time thicker than the Charvel guitar if you put them side by side. The tone on this Les Paul is killer. However, I don't know if my ear is a little bit deaf or what but the EMG pickup sound a little bit compress to me. Are there anyone with similar guitar that have the same opinion? Also, I have to pick harder if I switch to the neck pickup to get the dynamics that I need. I also sensed not too much love for Charvel guitars from the Les Paul owners. Why is that? I have 9 Charvel guitars plus one additional custom shop model coming soon and the guitar neck on these Charvel guitars are to die for. There is a reason why people will wait for 2 to 3 years for these Custom Shop Charvel guitars.

EMGs are naturally/unnaturally compressed, for sure. As for the neck pup problem, raise it.

Well I hate gold hardware on guitars, so I would have to swop that all out, but the guitar itself is really cool......congrats!

Try switching the pickups around and see how you like it. They are solderless so it's an easy swap. I personally run the 85 in the bridge and the 81 in the neck. The chunk of the 85 sounds really thick in the bridge and the bite of the 81 really cuts through in the neck position. Give it a try. Also you could try the 18v or 24v mod in it and see how it sounds to you. Happy new guitar day!

If your pickups sound too compressed, you can always try the 18v mod. It will open the pickups up a little more and help them breathe.

Because Les Paul owners generally don't know what they're talking about. And I have a Les Paul. But I like Charvels better!   :D

Nice, gonna use it for some mellow jazz are ya?

I love that Charvel! Looks like an early 80's version with the Strat pick guard and all.
