I scored what I think was a great deal today. I found a Jackson Kelly Pro on Ebay today and noticed it was in the Bay area, which is not far from me. Contacted the seller, they closed the auction, and we met up a little while ago and made the exchange. I paid $650 for it, which included a case.

The talk about these rare "PRO" series guitars is not hype. This Jap Pro is on the same level as far as quality, detail, and feel as their USA select counterparts, either that or this one just happens to be exceptionally good. It has a slim taper neck, thinner than a KE2. Neck thru maple, poplar wings, Schaller JT590 trem, and Jackson J92C/J50 pickups. I am pretty impressed with the J92C, it's a hot one for sure, sounds a lot like a SD Distortion.

Here are a few crappy cell phone pics, I'll get the real camera out and take some pictures tomorrow in the sunlight.

Awesome! I've always loved the Kelly. Must've been Marty Friedman that got me into them as a teenager. Nice score!

I always thought those were one of the nicer looking body shapes out there but the one I tried were a little neck heavy so I never bought one. I'd love to have a white one with the black binding.

I had a Rhoads Pro that killed. I wish I never sold that axe. My friend also had a King V Pro that was even better. Easily one of the nicest guitars in both tone & playability I've ever played. Funny thing is I had a NAMM show model King V Dave Mustaine USA that was korina and both the above Pro series guitars slaughtered that USA. Go figure...

I can see why these old Jap Pros are so sought after. You're buying a USA Select Jackson basically, for 2/3 the cost, or less.
