So, I've had her for just a few weeks now and it just keeps getting better...

I yanked out the stock Jackson MM-1 pickups and replaced them with an EMG Het Set and LOVE IT. The MM-1's were nice and had that very djenty quality, or sort of a full single coil sound; aggressive and tight. The MM-1's were very interesting and supposed to be a poor man's version of the Bareknuckle Juggernauts in the USA Misha models. I much prefer the Het Set and being my first, I am super impressed. I usually like the alnico's (EMG 85 and 57, etc), but the Het Set is just the right amount of fullness and attack and works very well with this guitar.

The neck is SO nice. 20" radius all the way down... i.e., flat as a pancake. Fret edges are nice and rolled, and the roast maple neck is smooth and fast as hell.

The guitar itself is so light and so fun to play!!!

I'm being ruined for other guitars...

I had the USA version of this and IT WAS AMAZING! The juggernaut is an awesome pickup and not what I expected. Tight, but not too much output with great definition and clarity. Nice and punchy also.

Is this instrument inspiring a new song soon? Or clip? Just curious, enjoy your music.

^^^^^
It actually is! Middle of recording and it's WEIRD as hell... I'll see if I can make a quick video of the first chunk/first third of the tune soon.

Woot!

Here ya go... a little silliness to kick things off... enjoy!!!!

Congrats! Always great to get a good one...nice playing too!

Nice guitar, colors and figured wood are fantastic. Sick playing like always.

Thanks!

Here's some raw improv and sunlight hitting the guitar... can really see the beauty of that roast maple neck... love it!

I've been on the fence about this guitar for a while mostly because of the mix opinions about quality control been all over the place. I'm glad you like it.

I did find the same tuning instability right out of the box, but changed strings, put a little graphite in the groves of the nut with a pencil and she's been great ever since. And I'm not nice with my bends. If it becomes an issue later on, I'll consider a bone nut. I haven't had any other issues with her at all. Love the tailpiece, even though many folks like to upgrade to a hipshot. Best neck/fretboard out of the box I've ever felt. Those rolled edges are excellent. The Het Set is a nice addition, but the MM-1's weren't bad at all, just voiced a little more toward that djent sound than I cared for, but it wasn't bad.

I'd highly recommend the 2020 models, as I heard most of the issues were with the earlier ones...

Hi Adam, quick question, just curious what screws did you use to mount the Het Set? The MM-1 are direct mounted & a different thread size to the EMG threads. Did you just use the EMG ones & screw into the body? Cheers.

If you like that one, you should really try the guitar that the name and specs were stolen from.... the Gutierrez Juggernaut.

I think, like another one of mine, I cut off about half of the EMG screws and just used those. They are always a little too long...
