NGD! Jackson Soloist SL2!

Bought it used, in great condition. Had to put .010's on it and do a full set up, fret polish, fingerboard was dry as shit, but it plays great, no issues. I guess I have one gripe, it came with JB/'59, and I don't know if I'm crazy about the JB. Crazy, sick lead tones, but rhythm/crunchy tones are kinda flabby. So, I think I'll drop in a Custom, and maybe a push/pull for the '59 for some single coil tones in the neck. Same Floyd as my Schecter, tuning is rock-solid. Huge step up from that piece of crap on the Wolfgang! This one set up nicely, and plays really well. Happy camper with this one!

It really depends on the guitar, you know? I had a Charvel So Cal Hardtail that had one, (maple fingerboard), and it rocked. Probably because it was naturally brighter. Even had an ESP Skolnick with a JB, (actually had 3 of those), it rocked as well.


Think I just need to do some more EQ'ing on the amp. It's gotten used to EMG's!

Put a Black Winter in the bridge and you will like it,I have the SLQ2 in Transparent Blue I just got new and it came with the Distortion mayhem set,kept the neck pickup in there but the Black Winter sounds amazing in these guitars ! I love that color you got ,they didn't have that color in stock when I bought mine,it would have been a toss up on the color..damn thats nice,these Indonesian made Jackson are kick ass !

I hate the JB!!!! I have a custom custom, you can have it if you want it. you were super close to winning the speakers. I like the custom 5 which I believe is a custom custom with a little something more?

JB is definitely a love/hate! I don't hate it, by any means, its just so damn finicky! It absolutely killed in some guitars I've owned! My Jackson is a 2014, when they used alder.

I'm glad you mentioned the speakers. I have 2 G12T-75's that I've been meaning to donate...

I have a pair of those Jacksons - they're great guitars! Mine both have the SD Distortion neck & bridge set - "Mayhem" I think they call it? Pretty cool guitars and the necks are awesome.
