Kiesel Aries!

Just got it yesterday after placing the order in early December. Let me apologize in advance for the crap pics. Still going through the honeymoon phase, but I can already tell that I'll be keeping it. It's a fantastic player with a super fast neck! Build quality appears to be excellent. The Kiesel pickups sound great to my ears and really shine on leads. I thought the pickups I had in past Carvins were always their weak point, but I have not complaints with these whatsoever. Just a really good solid guitar for the money. I'd recommend this model to anyone. I know there is a hate/love thing going on with the Aries body style, but I love it myself. Also, I opted for the soft case which is better than I expected. Very solid and supports the guitar nicely.

Very cool. Glad you like it. I actually started selling off my beaters to get another. I think I'm going to go with mahogany body and maple board. Anyway, the pickups sound desalt balanced and articulate... Right? The gigbag is sturdy too.

How does it compare to the Prs satin?

Yeah, the pickups are very articulate...very focused. IMO, it plays more effortlessly than the PRS Standard 24 Satin. A bit more enjoyable to play. The PRS also sounds darker in comparison and more "woody." I still dig the PRS, but the Kiesel is just a different animal altogether. You can really just fly up and down the neck on the Aries, very comfortable. I might consider an Aries Multiscale Fanned-Fret in the future.

That's exactly how I would compare two as well. I'll keep you posted on my next build. Enjoy

Congrats! Carvin/Kiesel build some great guitars! My TL60 is a great twist on a tele.

Nice. I love my Vader 7 and have a Floyd-Rose equipped Bolt on the way.

Is it neck heavy? I have a tl60 with kiesel pickups. No complaints other a bit of a dip due to a heavy neck. Im thinking the bolt on may be different. Great score. Carvin/kiesel also made me a fan of elixir strings. Enjoy!

Love my 3 Carvins . Give us a full report on the pickups after you spend some time with them .

I love the Kiesel pickups in my Carvin 8 with Ash/Spalt maple. How'd you get him to put that on the headstock though?

I'd say it's slightly neck heavy, but not too bad though.

I'm assuming this is a Kiesel build and not a Carvin? Usually the Kiesel branded guitars that I have been seeing have all the trans fretboard options, etc, I imagine there must have been other reasons why you went for this over a Carvin

There is no "Kiesel" or "Carvin" build. Same thing.
