I guess I've not posted much here, but some of you may know that I'm pretty much a Jackson guy. I have other stuff (Charvel, GMW, Anderson, Suhr etc) and I've wanted a Nightswan for ages - when this one became available I was able to make a trade plus cash deal for it. For those who don't know, Rod Schoepfer built (or rather, probably more accurately assembled) guitars for Richie Sambora among other people. My understanding is that he would take Kramer parts and modify them if necessary to get them to Richie's specs, I guess because Kramer didn't have a custom shop as such. Here's a link to a couple, and there are more references to the guy on the following pages: http://www.rockstarsguitars.com/categor ... e-sambora/

He also built / assembled guitars with his own logo on the headstock, and this is one of them. I'm no expert, but it's basically Kramer parts, right down to the neck plate. I have no idea how old it is, but I believe Rod died in the early 90's so the guitar is 20 years plus. It's in great shape, but it's not a showroom guitar by any means. It had creme pickup rings when I received it but those got swapped out straight away. Otherwise, I gave it a good polish with scratch remover, oiled the board, cleaned the Floyd with WD40 and it was ready to go...

I dig it. That's a sweet original looking guitar dood. HNGD!

Nice love these guitars!!! my 1st ever guitar too

I bought this Nightswan new in 87(had it on layaway for months)...I just had it restored last summer

I've been looking for a Nightswan for a long time, but they are hard to come by.

Nice! And I like the maroon restored NS too, was it that color originally?

Yuh it's the original color, mike lull guitar works did an awesome job matching the color...after years of gigging the finish had gotten pretty tore up. I loaned it to a friend while I worked in Alaska for two years. He took care of it pretty well, but not as good as I would've liked. Nothing broken, but a few gouges I couldn't look at anymore. It's my first guitar and I don't see me ever selling it. It looks like the day I bought it after having it restored...I got some motor city pickups to try out in it too

Cool! I did the same with my '85 Soloist - my dream guitar that I finally got used in '02. The pearl white was all yellow and I had GMW refinish it. Looks brand new, and I'll never sell it!
