Always wanted a Les Paul and liked Goldtops and Customs most, silver bursts in particular. Really dig the old ones where the finish turned yellow/greenish.

Recently discovered this new one, which has a so-called vintage silver burst finish.

Plays and sounds great

Sadly no, kitchen counter top material ;)

But it sounds and plays so nice thatI'm willibg to overlook that for the sake of the finish.

Congrats. Looks killer. I love the yellow/green tinted silverbursts.

Looks great. Nice patina without being beaten up.

I love me some kitchen counter top material fretboard; can really get to choppin on that stuff

Nice piece man!

Great looking guitar, congrats! My favorite LP. We have very similar taste in them. I would love to get a late 70's or early 80's silverburst, been keeping my eyes open for a while. i dig the greenish aged finish also but the price of these older models is getting up there.

If anyone is interested, there's a 2007 Silverburst at a GC in Nashville for 1600. This was a run specifically for GC, the serial # reflects this.

Thanks all! So far, it seems to prefer the Friedman JJ above the Diezel Hagen, but I haven't played around with the EQ much. Sounds great through both amps though.

I noticed that the yellowing is only applied to the side of the binding, the binding on top of the fretboard is still white. Looked at a couple of vintage ones and it's the same. So apprently they only yellow where the clearcoat is.

The prices of used ones over here are quite close to the price for new ones. Still a bit cheaper but of course buying vintage is a bit of a gamble.

Very pleased with it.

Ya I've heard that it's the nitro that yellows over time on guitars and not the actual paint.

Ok, found it. That's a standard, not a custom.

Ha ha yeah I'm not really up on LPs, just thought I'd mention it...it seems to be a special run for GC, but I didn't know what level/quality of LP it is. The only silverbursts I ever see are way up there in price, this seems more reasonable. But again, I'm not very schooled in LPs. Just that I'm hoping to find an original '59 at a yard sale someday!
