Scored a great deal on an LTD Phoenix 1000 from Redzone Guitar Works in Pasadena, CA. If you're in the LA area, check them out. Fantastic customer service with a unique inventory.
I always wanted a Gibson Firebird after seeing Steve Clark play one on Def Lep's "Armageddon It" vid. Once I finally got to try one, I found it awkward and somewhat difficult to play.
This Phoenix plays like butter! Really good craftsmanship for the price, IMO. It's got a smooth satin finished neck, Earvana nut, fat frets, locking tuners, and the pups are SD JB in the bridge and '59 in the neck (which I will be replacing soon with Arcane humbucker sized P90s)
