So I ended up pulling the trigger on a Mesa Stiletto Trident I saw at a used everything kind of store called Eco Town (Hard Off in Japan). I got to admit I was digging the orange head tolex and look in general without even knowing how it sounded. Thanks for everyone that chimed in on my other thread, at least I knew what I was getting into. I got to say I kind of dig this amp. It doesn't blow away my other amps, not even close but it is pretty cool and more versatile than I thought.

Ch1 the clean channel is pretty cool, the fat clean switch sounds rad but I liked it best with the gain cranked up on bold.. it really reminded me of the AC/DC For those about to rock tone, kind of on the darker side. When switched to Spongy it reminded me of early Ramones lol... Ch2 the high gain channel in Spongy mode totally reminds me of the Master of Puppets tone. I didn't even boost the amp yet and am pretty stoked.

Quick clip below playing thru V30s (I didn't care for it with my 2x12 Redbacks) with a 1980 Greco Les Paul Custom with custom alinico 8 pickups a buddy made for me. Don't mine the fuck ups.. haven't been playing so much lately

Yeah so far its cool. I dig it with the tube rectification on, 50watt mode set on spongy and using the fluid drive. It kind of reminds me of my Dirty Shirley 40 watt on the clean channel. Also just thru a od9 in front of ch2 and its sounds super metal... I dig it.. now I just have to figure out where I'm gonna put it lol.

Sounds good! It's got that 'Mesa meets Marshall' kinda thing going..

Yeah it really does. I wasn't expecting to like the rock tones as much as I do. Ch1 with the spongy setting, tube recto on is sort of in the same ball park as my dirty shirley. Not bad for straight in and no boost.

I had a Stiletto Deuce and Triple Rec...they sound really good together..

I was told to put an EQ in the loop and boost the lows is the way to go.
