I have been overhauling my gear a lot this year. In the last couple of weeks I have got most of my gear sorted out, so it is time for the new rig thread...

NGD - PRS CE22 hardtail flame top gold hardware. The first five frets are quite worn, so I am going to have it re-fretted with jescar EVO gold wire!!! I am just waiting for the wire to come in.

NCD - Port City wave 212 with the old style grill, looks great, and sounds pretty big. I am just waiting on my Scumback speaker I have on order to sort out what speakers to load into it with the Scumback XH75-LHDC

NCD #2 - Carvin Legacy 412 with UK V30s. As soon as I got home from buying this I found the Port City. I will be re-selling this one.

NAD - Randall RM50 combo, I will be turning this into a head to go on top of the Port City. I will be picking up the baltic birch today, and firing up the router table in a couple of weeks. I love these type of projects!!

NMD - New Module day #1 Sacred Groove XTC, wow this module rocks!!! All four modes cover a lot of ground. I will have to play this a lot more this weekend to really get a feal for it, but so far wow!!!

NMD #2 Sacred Groove Diablo, based off of a pre 500 dual rectifier. Lots of switches, so I haven't been able to play with it too much, but Orange channel, vintage mode is killer!!!

NMD #3 Salvation Chupacabra, great original design tight high gain module!!!

Nice stuff, and I thought I bought a lot of new gear last year!

Thanks!! This is just the last couple of weeks lol. I am going to be selling a lot of stuff, and just having two nice guitars, one nice amp with some modules, and the port city cab, and my earcandy 112 since it is nice and portable.

Thanks, I will be putting the XTC, and Diablo up against the Mako this weekend. If they can hang in there I will be selling the Mako. Also this weekend my buzzbomb, peavey 50/50, and two of my V30s will be gone.

So I got home, and what is in my mail box?? A Salvation Chupacabra I will be able to put all three modules up against the Mako. So that is NMD x3 now!!!! So far the Chupa seems very tight, and versatile!!!! It is a lot tighter than the Diablo, but both are killer, and different.

I have to say between that XTC, and Chupacabra I have some killer tones coming out of this amp!! The mas gear purge has started...So far the Peavey 50/50, Earcandy Buzzbomb, Jet City 112, and two Vintage 30s are gone. My Mak4 might be gone monday which would leave two V30s, the Peters (if I decide to sell it), an empty 412, and four other speakers.

I have to say it feels good getting such a small versatile setup, and selling the rest. I have had a lot of inspiration on those two modules so far, and I haven't really gotten into the Diablo yet.

The Chupacabra is so clear, and articulate, but brutal at the same time it makes single notes, and harmonics jump out. It really shows sloppy playing which I like, but it always stays tight even with the bass cranked up a bit. It keeps this tightness in all nine modes!!! It only starts to get sloppy in the highest gain mode with the gain cranked which is way too much gain to be usable for anything lol. This is the high gain tone I have been chasing for a while!!

The XTC in all four modes is very inspiring to play. When I have it on the blue channel with structure off I can't help but put on the neck pup, roll the tone off a bit, and play some nice complex cords, and expressive runs, with structure engaged it changes into a fatter 80s rock tone with a lot of definition, the red channel with structure off is perfect for AC/DC type big chords and big 70s rock. With Structure on it is a perfect moded Marshall tone to me. Just awesome for so many types of music!!!

I am planning on making some clips of these once I am finalized on what speakers are the best for this setup. Right now I am running a Mesa MC-90 in the combo, or my Port city with an Eminence Lynch super V, and Delta Pro 12a. Both sound great!!! I am going to be building a headshell for the amp this week so that I can put it on my cab, and have a nice compact system. I also have a scumback XH75-LHDC on its way.
