First of all, I would like to thank Jim (yngzaklynch) for giving me the GAS to buy one of these! First new guitar I've bought in years!

Here are the specs:

John Petrucci 6 Dargie Delight II Ernie Ball John Petrucci 6 String Guitar, LTD Edition Dargie Delight II, Matching Headstock, Ebony Fingerboard, Tremolo/Piezo Bridge, Dargie Delight II Inlays, C.O.A., Case, RARE!

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box is how light and compact the guitar is. Plays very well right out of the box. I need to tweak the set up a bit, but overall very nice. First time I've ever played a guitar with a Piezo bridge. VERY cool! I like that a lot. Also the first guitar I've ever owned with Dimarzio PUs. Been a Seymour boy up to this point.

The Dargie Delight II color is pretty cool. Changes color depending on how the light is hitting it. Much cooler than the photos show. I really like the ebony fretboard. It has smaller frets than I'm used to, but I'm sure I'll get used to them.

I've owned custom shop Charvels, ESP, Jackson, USA Deans, PRS (artist), Gibson, Fender, Etc....This guitar ranks right up there with the best. Maybe even better. The neck adjustment is VERY cool!! If you have a chance to try one, it will be worth your while!! VERY cool guitar!!

I like the inlays and that color. My JP6 is plain jane compared to that but I love it. I put BK Miracle Man in mine and I'm having an EMG afterburner put in it just for the heck of it.......

holy jesus tits.

NICE DUDE. I am pretty strictly a player of my own guitars, but I would rock a MM in a heartbeat. I've been after a steve morse model for a long time...

Man that colour is awesome! I LOVE GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN! and the inlays and ebony board should be standard on the JP along with a mahogany body! fuck basswood!

hahaha

congrats on a killer score!

Congrats man! I just joined the EBMM club myself, killer stuff. That is one sick JP you have there, love the color!

This is the only guitar I own that's made out of Basswood. I don't have an opinion on it quite yet. Will have to spend some more time with the JP6. I do know that it's super light though!! My Les Paul feels like it weights 50 lbs compared to the JP6!!

The Ball Family Reserve Petrucci's have a Mahogany tone block that runs through the body. Would like to see how much difference that makes.

+1 to all of this. I love the ebony. That thing just plain rocks.

beautiful! Those inlays are WAY nicer than the shields. The shields are just borderline gaudy, IMO. Those are such nice guitars.

Congratulations on a great guitar! I have been playing them since 2001. I love mine.

Oh yeah, that looks kick-ass! I've always wanted to try one of those out...!

Awesome, congrats! My JP6 BFR is on order and due in a few weeks. I can't wait.

haha, of course! Still feeling out the basswood myself. First impressions, the guitar is HOT! Maybe a little too hot, which I feel odd even saying. If I keep the volume at 10 it just howls with the VHT. Roll 'er to 9 and I'm okay. Still need to put some time in to decide if I like the pickups or not. They're good, I just need more time in with them to make a clear decision. I've gotta say though, in terms of feel, this axe is the cat's meow! I'm having a great time playing it!

You think I should check out the new EVH Wolfgang pups if the ones in the Axis aren't exactly to my liking?

none really. Especially if you're using tons of gain. I played a couple of BFR's along side my JP6 and couldn' tell much of a difference. I see the BFR's as just a figured top version of teh JP6. That $900 or so just pays for the fancy wood.

step 2 is to ditch those pickups and put something good in it. I've got a motor city AFWAYU and Detroiter being built for mine.

Nice man! Great Guitar / Great Guitar player. Petrucci is one of my favs. That is a unique color.
