Couldn't pass this up. I found a good deal on a absolute mint 1989 PRS custom24 10 top. The price was good and the condition even better. Jut please please dont tell my wife... she wont know the differnce between this one and the 91 I have as long as I always keep one in the case I think Ill be safe for a few months.... (I wish this was a joke)
Very shitty pics but more interested in playing it right now rather than taking pictures of it. interesting that when you roll off the volume it doesnt get muddy at all but all the electronics are original..

Sucks that you have to "hide" this one. That's a sweet axe in incredible condition!

BTW, if you need a place to store it I'll be happy to help out. :D

Ohhhhh yes
Not usually a vintage yellow fan, but that is a prime specimen right there. Very nice.

thats my favorite color for the custom 24, I have a 1990 custom 24 love it, you got to tell me what you paid for that?

:inlove: :inlove: That is a beautiful color. Thats a Virginia Ave guitar? that must be one of the early finished headstock releases. Very nice. So it has standard bass and treble pups?

I knew JTyson would chime in   yes it would have been at the Virgina avenue i believe the serial indicates it would late 89 and has the standard bass and treble pups. I'm digging the treble pickup actually. I don't know when they changed the neck profiles but seems like 91 and earlier have a feel that agree with me more. the rotary wiring is consistent with 89 as well (http://www.prsguitars.com/csc/schematic ... ary_89.pdf) i paid around 4500 for it keep in mind this is Japan and if I hadn't looked at the serial number I would have asked him if it was a new reissue or something so might seem expensive but considering the location and the condition justified it for me very easily.

only down side is that this will make getting another Suhr a bit difficult till 2011. and that Naked amp.... and rack stuff to put back together the triaxis rig... and..... so on and so on.....

That is really an exceptional flame in that one. My favorite guitar of all time was built there. At that time they only had a handful of people building them. They are prime examples of guitar building. Mine from that time period was a Ltd Ed that Brad bought from me. I broke the neck on it and it made me sick (literally) It had a Lester stop tailpiece and tune-o-matic bridge and was chambered. I got it repaired by a master luthier in Columbus Ga. who died a few years ago. He did a great job on the repair, but it just wasent the same. I dont know if Brad still has it or not, I hope he's not sorry he got it from me, but he probably is :aww: I had no idea those were getting that kind of price over there. I bet it will only go up in value. Thats a piece of history for PRS fans, congratulations

Those early PRS guitars are great. I never thought I'd own one until I bought my '90 CE-24.

I love your guitar and I want one just like it.

Sucks your scared of the wife, I haven't seen anybody post that they have to hide stuff in a while. What's the worst thing she can do, I can't really relate to your situation because I'm married almost 15 yrs and don't have to hide my gear or explain a purchase.

it wasnt that bad. she found out tonight. smarter than I thought. she pays attention to what i play i guess. she noticed the sweet switch. (91 onwards dont have the sweet switch) she wasnt very pissed off just gave me the "still?" as in still buying guitars. she commented that I had two PRS two strats and one suhr and asked when the next Suhr would be arriving. I told her 2011...

She noticed the sweet switch? Jesus! That is one observant woman you've got there!  Try switching out speakers in one of your cabs and see if she notices a difference in tone. We'll get a RT betting pool started on that one.

that might be an interesting bet... When I started to use the deep switch engaged on the mesa 2:90 on the clean channel she noticed. not in an overt way but she said "nani ka otto ga chotto chigau" that roughly comes to "something sounds different" so it might make for an interesting bet.

Nice. I had an 86 just like that except the top wasn't as nice. I sold it for $5,500. :D

Looks great, and have the short heel the newer one should have.
