How do you like them? Have you ever tried the candys? In my steckel the candy pickups were amazing. Just great for high gain and cleans. I like the steckel better than the stevens, but the stevens is a very close second. I don’t like the stevens logo on my headstock. It’s a great guitar though, plays great and sounds fantastic. The stevens bare knuckles are cool, I like them a lot better than the rebel yells.

To the OP, you will like the guitar more and more, amazingly it grows on you and only gets better. Knaggs builds a killer singlecut.
I haven’t tried the candy’s but heard good things. I know they’re really low output and I always seem to need a little more push than all the PAF’s I’ve tried. I would like to try them though if I had the opportunity

I remembered that a few years ago, Bare Knuckle, had the " Ray Gun" logo on their Steve Stevens pickup ....great pickup !!!!

So, an update...I took it to rehearsal last night.

Basic rig was the SSC, my Splawn QuickRod, and an EVH 2x12 with a Scumback M75/ BM75 mix. Normally in 1st gear with either OD2 or an Elements OD kicked on for more gain.

For context we cover classic rock, 80's, hair bands, dance, modern country- pretty much everything, so a versatile rig is critical.

The SSC was AWESOME!

Plenty of articulate grind when I needed it, cleaned up exceptionally well, and sounded great even totally clean. Just a joy to play. I threw a little delay and micro pitch in as needed to season, and I had no problems getting everything I wanted.

I don't know the specs on the pickups (I do know they're based on the BK Mule), but they are amazing! I normally use hotter pickups (14kish), but now I get the allure of low output winds. Clarity and sensitivity out the wazoo.

Expensive, yes- but man, what a guitar.

That color, with the gold, and the headstock ray gun, holy shit that's pretty.

Beautiful guitar! I've always wanted to check out either a SSC or Steckel model.

Played one in a store last week and it was my first time playing a Knaggs but I was beyond impressed. An expertly crafted professional instrument. Congratulations.
