I had really been missing having a strat in the stable since I sold my last one. Every now and then I get the urge for tones that a Les Paul simply cannot deliver...lol. After listening to way too much Thomas Blug over the past few weeks, I decided to put together a 60s inspired Stratocaster. So off to eBay I went. I guess you could call the guitar an 90s MIM Strat. The body is from a 95 and the neck is a 96. I loaded the guitar with Fender 57/62 pickups. I cannot express just how good these pickups sound. The Clip below simply does not do them justice. For me, they are the perfect vintage strat tone. Captured and delivered. I had to make myself pickup my Les Paul last night, because we're auditioning drummers next week. lol At any rate... here's a short clip of the guitar. All of my amp setting were left unchanged from my norm. They pickup are vintage wind low output. I think the DC is something like 5.8k. Hope you enjoy. I'm off to go play more!
Nice!
Great clean tone.
That's what an LP or HB guitar can't give you.
Same as you, I've been playing my E-II Eclipse, LP style, HB tone, along with my Schecter with HB's.
It's been like 2-3 months since I picked up my Strat.
Today I got the itch to play.
NICE. It is refreshing to hear that Strat single coil tone, and I've always loved the neck on Strat's.
Upper fret access is easier than even the deeper cut away of an ESP LP style Eclipse.
My Strat has Lace sensors with a red, blue, and silver. It's not traditional, classic single coil tone, but it's still true Strat tone just no noise like the classic's.

That's why I LOVE Lace sensors and won't put in a noisy classic single coil.
The output of the red Lace is just as hot as the Duncan JB in my 3 HB guitars.
The tone is awesome. Moderate and high gain has such a cool growl with the solid body and hot Lace pups.
Pinch harmonics are so easy with this Strat, and the tones it produces are as cool any HB guitar.
Players who only play HB guitars are really missing out on what a Fender single coil can do.
