I'm in the same boat with the pickups. I just picked up a Modern Antique and love the guitar, but the pickups are a hair too bright for my tastes.

I'm in the same boat with the pickups. I just picked up a Modern Antique and love the guitar, but the pickups are a hair too bright for my tastes.

Yup too much sizzle, not enough bacon. I'm trying to decide between some thornbuckers, mcp afwayu set or a friedman classic and classic +. I've had thornbuckers in a modern satin and they were excellent. I have friedmans in a friedman cali and they are pretty badass too. Never tried the afwayu but it sounds right up my alley.
