I bought this from Eddie's Guitars on Friday and got it today. This is the 3rd Suhr I've owned 2 of which were Pro Series plus my Custom Modern, which I still own. I tried to read up on as many reviews as I could find, but there weren't too many. A lot of the pictures make them look really lightly colored, which this one isn't too light. I figured I'd ditch the SSH+ for an Aldrich, but this guitar sounds SOOO GOOD as is. I've been playing it for 2 hours and couldn't be happier with it now. I only wish the neck was smoother like my mahogany neck Custom Modern, but I'll get used to it.

Do not buy them on Ebay, contact the dealer directly and it will be cheaper than the $1999 price!

Stainless Steel frets
14" radius
GG 800-850 neck shape
SSV neck SSH+ bridge
Original Floyd
African mahogany body and neck with Indian rosewood board

Anyone else got one of these?

Eddie's pics since they look good.

Awesome, congrats on the NGD, that is sweet. I'd love to get a Suhr Modern Pro someday.

Nice guitar!

I'm a huge fan of natural finishes.

What do you mean by the neck isn't smooth enough? Do you prefer more of a finished neck?

That grain may "fill in" the more you play it and become smoother.

I'm seriously considering a natural finish Suhr Modern as my next purchase.

Classy!! And yea it's always cheaper to buy off eBay. If you past a dealer with bank wire they'll take money off too because it saves them CC fees

I dealt with Brett from Eddie's on the Gear Page, but they also had it listed on Ebay.

Nice! HNGD!

I've got one myself with the 510. I thought the same as you about adding the Aldrich before receiving it. Then after playing, I knew it was perfect as-is. On the neck....funny you mention that, because I heard someone else recently mention the same thing about theirs being that way which surprised me. I don't know if this is the way they are letting them go now or what, but I swear that the back of my neck is as smooth as can be with no rough surfaces of any kind....just like my other Modern necks. I can imagine what you are talking about too, because the body of my Satin has that rougher texture, but my neck is a completely even, smooth surface. I purchased mine back in the early summer of this year. When I heard that other dude mention it, I was like "whaa?" But, now you said the same thing. After reading your post, I even went and checked to make sure it wasn't just in my head. But, it's not rough like the body at all. I guess they just started doing them that way at some point. Does it seem to affect playablity that much?

Not at all. I only noticed it at first. My guitar was from this month I believe the date was the first week of December. Who else mentioned it? I'm going to PM John on TGP and ask him.

Wow, fresh out the factory! Yeah, I couldn't believe the tone I was getting the first time I plugged mine in. After purchasing online, I was already having second thoughts and thinking I probably wouldn't like it as much as my Customs. I figured I'd end up returning it. Instead, I was floored from the first day. I actually find myself reaching for it more than my others most of the time. It's probably my all time favorite neck, plays so nice! Congrats on getting yours!

I think I like the neck shape on this one more than my custom which has the 780-830. Its closer to my Tom Anderson's which I believe are 810-870

My bad the print date on the build sheet had 12-2-13. The guitar is exactly 2 months old as of today.

Umm... YES! These are amazing! Some of my favorite guitars! HNGD!

Congrats man!!!
John responded to your post about painting it on the original thread in case you didn't see it.

I didn't know he was on here. He prolly said I was an idiot for thinking of that.

Awesome. John and Company are insane about their customer satisfaction. I once had a Suhr painted by them. I wound up waiting awhile(not that long) because they refused to ship it back to me until it was perfect. The guitars go through a very strict process. If there is one issue in the finish or otherwise, back to paint, etc. it goes until it's perfect. I think John even did the final inspection on two of my Suhrs. If you wait a little bit, they offer you a nice gift. And not just a T-Shirt. I have gotten three T-Shirts, a gig bag, and a Koko boost. These guys are beyond awesome. Dealing with Suhr is like going out to a five star restaurant for a "Flights of Wine".
