Picked up this Epi TOny Iommi SG yesterday and am pretty impressed with it. I normally don't bother with guitars in this type of a price range, but I couldn't pass up a murdered out SG with 24 frets, not to mention the price.

Neck is a little fat but it plays good and I am liking the Iommi pickups in this thing. They are a little darker sounding, but sound good.

I like that model. I agree the neck is a bit fat, but with the 24 frets, killer pickups, and the balanced weight makes this SG a winner.

Does anyone know by chance what magnets are in the Iommi pickups? They are not super hot by any means, the Gibson T500 is noticeably hotter, but they do have a nice tone to them.

I think they're Ceramic. Not Alnico like BurstBuckers, I may be wrong.

LOVE the guitar. :D it's probaly my favourite SG ever, I'm yet to play one so I can't comment but I've heard good things.

The balanced weight and the 24 frets are features I'd definately want from an SG. My first guitar was an SG copy and the neck dive was horrific.

Gibson call it a "Patented magnet configuration."
They've been real quiet about the design and composition of these pickups. They are Gibsons first sig pickup, and only second P.A.F. pickup since the original P.A.F.
