Just got this beauty a few days ago. One of the previous owners added the chrome hardware and Dimarzio double creme pickups (AT-1 bridge and Breed neck) and rings. It's also wired with a push pull volume that splits the pickups series/parallel, a really cool feature.

When I got it, it had gold screws, and gold fake Floyd posts with bushings that were glued in with rubber cement? It also had a Gotoh Floyd with D-Tuna, which I removed in favor of my 80's Floyd in mint condition. I replaced the posts with chrome Schallers and changed the inserts to the proper sized Floyd ones. I also changed the pickup ring screws back to silver (stainless).

Here she is. I should mention how perfect this guitar plays, super low action, no fret buzz, no fret wear, only a few tiny dings on the super shiny paint - best USA San Dimas I've tried to date!

Killer! I always loved that seasick color when they came out and KNEW it would look much better w/chrome hardware. Congrats. I'm drooling!

I have one that I bought off some guy here that looks exactly the same. i love that look. Great guitar. Why Charvel does not create cool looking "era correct" pieces is beyond me. I think i could sell more guitars than them - the current line of Pro Mods is boring too. Every USA Pro Mod i have has been changed by me to look cooler.

Thanks!

I think it was to keep costs down that Charvel USA used all black hardware, and limited the cool colors. And those giant rubberized volume knobs were/are the first thing I change!

That is a sweet looking guitar. Love the color, I may have to get one in that color. Have a USA in slime green and it plays like a dream. Also have an early pointy headstock in white with a single hum.

They are tough to find - I've been looking for a while.

I sold my black Pointy reissue to cover this one's cost!

I love the way that looks with the cream pickups and chrome hardware. I never liked the look of the black. Congrats on your killer new guitar!

I owned a Seasick with black hardware a few years ago. Sold it because the frets were lame, and the color was "meh" to me. I smile everytime I see this guitar, thanks to the chrome and creme

That is sweet! You gotta love the double cremes! Here's mine:

Nice! Looks straight out if the late 70's!

Good old school vibes on both. Exactly the way I would have done them.

Out of the box I think the Gotoh Floyd has a 15" radius while the 80s Floyd would be 10" if it's genuine. What's the radius of the fingerboard?

Pretty sure the old Floyd has a 15" radius. The neck is 12-16 compound.
