Yeah... I know... 80's pointy guitars...
2012 BC Rich Handcrafted Mockingbird Supreme. I still need to do some work on the setup, but so far, it plays great and sounds great! I'll probably replace the SD pups with some BKP. It wasn't advertised as such, but it's in immaculate condition and I think it's NOS. No signs of wear, barely any fingerprints, still had the film on the plastic bits. And the COA was signed on 21 Dec 2012... the day the world was supposed to end, and the Winter Solstice.
I still remember the first time I saw Motley Crue. I'd never seen a BC Rich Warlock before. Back in the days before the Internet, it took me almost six months to figure out what it was, and when I finally did, I sent off for their catalog. I fell in LOVE with one of the Warlocks in that catalog, not to mention the Mockingbirds, Eagles, and Ironbirds. I loved them SO MUCH that I actually made about 20 full-size models out of poster board and model paint (as close as I could come when I was 13). It took me several years to get my first "real" BC Rich, an '84 or '85 NJ Series Mockingbird (my third guitar) and a few more years to get my second BC Rich, an '87 Platinum Series Warlock. Fast forward a bit and I finally found an almost exact copy of that Warlock from the catalog. A few years later, I found what I believe to be a Warlock II, although it bears close semblance to the later US Series. Don't care... I love that one, too!
If I would've had the resources back then to custom order a Mockingbird, this one would've been it. It's exceeded my expectations for playability and sound. In so many ways, this is one of my dream guitars and I feel so lucky to have finally brought it home!
