   It's an old ESP body with a Warmoth neck that started life as a 22 fret... I had this guitar in pieces for like 10 years, it sat at 2 different techs places for much of the last 10 years disassembled. Originally a rosewood neck with 3 singles in a white guard... recently I decided as part of a little "brown sound" fun quest to buy a vintage DSD, as I think that was maybe what was used on VH1 (or the mighty Mite equivalent). I was gonna throw it in a Suhr but then I remembered I had this axe sitting at Eric (Lush Guitars) shop here in LA so I called him and said "route it for a humbucker and throw it in there with a black guard"... and voila here it is. Eric managed to remove the 22nd fret for that real authentic old Charvel look.

I think it's cool as shit, in a 1979 sort of way!

How's it sound? Well through the Friedman/Metro Marshall clone it friggin rips (I stopped by TM to show it to Dave F right after I picked it up)- I need to pot the pickup, it is a squealer but the tone is all there- it's killer. It's right up VH1 alley, IMHO, it has loads of attitude and that more scooped distorted thing. Now it's time to plug it into my SL68 for some more listening..... Next week I'll pot the pickup and get it screwed straight into the wood.

EDIT: here's a clip!!:

 It tells me you also loved the 80's my friend.
Welcome to our disease ..........................
Looks awesome.

 Cool. That looks a little like the Pagan Gold color that Charvel was doing the So-Cal's in last year.
Those old Super Distortions do sound different from the congested compressed version they sell now.

That neck has that "old pair of sneakers" look to it. Just looking at it you can tell it's comfy.

no floyd = WIN
this is more the charvel that charvel should reissue, with 30 years of relic'ed sunset blvd wear and tear

+10 on the clips through the 68!
