This just arrived today! Something a bit different from my normal Suhrs....EBMM Steve Morse Y2D in Solar Flare finish. I had actually purchased a Morse Y2D in D-Purpleburst (kinda bluish) a couple of years ago and really liked it at the time, but had to return it due to a build defect. The dealer offered to replace it with another one but told me I'd have to wait 2-3 months. At that time, I just decided to pass as I had other expenses that I really needed to address. Well fast forward to last week, I had heard about GC having their "Guitar-A-Thon Sale". I found an online price list of what each store had in stock and it showed the Retail, Normal, and Final Sale Price on all items. As some of you know, it was actually a decent sale for GC as several big name brands/models were marked down quite significantly. Anyhow, I got Musician's Friend to price match a new, untouched Morse Y2D @ 53% off List. It wasn't easy, but after a bit of coercing...I got them to come around. It wasn't even my first choice of color, as I really wanted a Blackburst (which they don't currently carry) or another D-Purpleburst (which they did away with this year I believe). And, I was also limited to the same finishes that GC had, so it was either the new Solar Flare or the classic Purple Sunset. I already have a purple Suhr, so I figured I'd go with the Solar Flare even though I wasn't really crazy about it at the time. But, now that it's here in person, I really must say that I love it! I've seen another Solar Flare online that's got an orange type of tint to it that I just don't really care for. So, I was quite relieved when mine arrived with more of a deep "blood-red".

I'm not sure if it's just this particular Y2D, but it's even better than I remember the other Y2D being that I briefly had in both tone and feel. I swear the pickups seem "hotter" in this one, but then again I'm strictly going off a brief memory. At any rate, I'm really quite happy with them. It came set up quite well out of the box, but I think I'm going to just raise the action ever so slightly. It really plays great as it is though, and I love the 1 5/8 nut width and of course I had always remember loving the neck carve on the other one....this one feels just as good. I've been wanting something different in contrast to my regular Suhrs for sometime, and I think I've finally found it. :)

Bitchin, cant beat EBMM bang for buck wise really. Congrats

Cool! I've got a regular Morse model and I've always wanted a Y2D. Congrats!

Congrats. I love my y2d and I would never sell her. Enjoy!!
