I've owned ALOT of Wolfgangs in the past few years but Ive never owned a solid black first year,although Ive always wanted to get one. I've decided the prototype obviously isn't going to be a player so I went on the search for a nice black pat pend. Finding the right guitars is always hard for me because of my ocd, they have to be as mint and unused as possible.
This one popped up on ebay friday night and was only 45 minutes from me. Shot the guy a cash offer so he wouldnt have to deal with fees and shipping and he took it.
Pictures he had listed of it made it look ok but when I got there I was very surprised to see an almost mint condition guitar that just needed a cleaning. Got it home,tore it apart and gave it a cleaning and setup and it rips!
Its a pre 4500 serial number first year and like I said in near mint condition. NO dings,dents or scratches anywhere. This is the first time Ive owned one of the solid basswood bodied wolfgangs and Im surprised at home amazing this thing sounds. Its is definitely the best sounding/playing Wolfgang I've owned to date.
(might be selling the striped to fund another wolfgang hint hint)
