Just picked up this J Custom and its pretty nice,Its a jcrg614. It has the wenge bubinga neck that feels pretty amazing and is loaded with factory bareknuckle aftermaths. It screams and plays really good but Im having a little trouble getting used to the super thin neck lol, I Dont remember my other J customs neck being this thin. Got a super deal on this one nos from a dealer. Here it is with my Anderson Angel

Update: contacted the dealer and its on its way back. I wasn't going to try and force myself to like the neck and because of the shops policy if I put play wear on it I wouldn't be able to return it. So a very short ngd indeed lol. I should do one for the anderson since Ive had it for 2 months now and everyone seems to like it

Looks awesome.

How does the Anderson stack up next to a Suhr Modern? They look really similar & I had my eye out for an Angel but I rarely see them available.

Maybe your Ibanez has the Wizard neck, which is by far the thinnest neck I've ever put my hands on. For me, just too thin. Beautiful guitar though, but Ohhh man,,,,that Anderson has me drooling big time. I'm currently looking for one, either drop top or Angel. Is the main difference between the 2 the 22 vs 24 fret neck, or does the Angel have some other differences. I am familiar with the drop top specs, not as up to speed with the Angel.
Beautiful Ax's brother, but I'll take the Anderson for the win!

Yea, Im pretty sure the only difference between the drop top and angel is the 22 vs 24 frets. This one is spec'd exactly as I wanted with the basswood body, monster quilt top even taper neck in h s h config. It is a spectacluar guitar. I havent seen another with as nice a quilt as this one either ;) my old ESP popped back up for sale so who knows, make me an offer lol.

As far as Anderson vs Suhr, the Andersons felt and played better to me than all the Suhrs I played

I don't like it.
Lol, tell us how you really feel. But really, Im leaning more towards that too just because of how thin the neck is, doesnt help that one of my old Horizons popped back up for sale either lol. The Ibby really is a nice piece though

Nice guitar! Quality on the J Custom I had was right up there with Andersons and Suhrs. The specs are very different though. Not for everyone.

The anderson necks are so nice , probably part of the reason you arent digging the neck on the ibby. I cant get along with how thin they are either

I'd take that J Custom in a heartbeat!

Just out of curiousity, what kind of a deal did you get on it?
Let me know via PM if you don't want to post it.
