My tax refund check came in this past week...we all know what that means...New Gear Time!

I came across a pic of the new Trailer Trash flat boards recently and just had to get one. I love Rooster's boards anyway, but these flat boards are just SICK!
The soft case is also quite nice...definitely a huge improvement from the old soft cases they used in the past.
Spent all day (off and on) wiring up the board. I'm pretty proud of my work. I'm not a pro at it, but I think I did pretty decent. Can't wait to gig this board!
I'm running everything in front of the amp except for the M9, which is being utilized in a Wet/Dry fashion with the EH22Caliber providing the power.

The new riser option allows for hiding power supplies and, in this case, my line 6 G50 wireless unit. Also has a nice overhang for hiding cables.

Recently had fellow RTer Harris (hthomas) build me one of his pedals...The gold screamer...but in this case it's a green one. Awesome little 808 clone that fits nicely in-between my other OD's in terms of tonality. Harris is a great guy and obviously loves this stuff. Looking forward to hearing his amps that he is building this summer. I'll be doing a video review over this pedal in the next couple weeks. So be on the lookout.

Also got some new custom picks made. If any of you collect picks lmk and I'll send some out to you for your collection. :) Clayton Custom is awesome for getting stuff out quick. These were ordered last Sunday night and were received on Thursday. Can't beat that!

The Apogee ONE was an impulse buy after trying one out at GC the other day. I didn't really need it, but man this thing is cool...and the on board mic sounds killer! This will be my little travel recording set up now. Very very pleased with this little unit. If you haven't checked these out yet you definitely should. Pete Thorn has a nice video demonstrating it's capabilities.

Lastly I picked up a used but mint condition Shure PSM 600 In Ear system. I got this thing for a super good deal thanks to a good pal. The unit is in perfect working condition and sounds phenomenal. The only downside is the limited number of channels, but I don't foresee any major issues with that.

Overall I've had a fun little week of new gear. Gotta love refund checks. :) I'll probably be kicking myself later, but for now I'm enjoying my new toys.

Cheers!

So you're in Nashville and play in a band called the Spazmatics?

Well currently I'm in Memphis, and Yes, I play with The Spazmatics from time to time. :)

Crazy... There's a band here in L.A. with the same name and very similar look. (I'm easily confused so had to ask)

looks great man, nice job! All these killer pedalboard threads lately are giving me serious gas.

btw, what's your opinion of that EP booster?

Same company...There are Spazmatics bands all over (LA, Vegas, Austin, Chicago, Cleveland, Nashville, etc)
Same concept, same music, just different players.
It's a fun gig.

I personally love the EP booster. I use it a few different ways. With this board I have it set low and on all the time just to add some beef to the signal and all.
I also use it turned up a good bit when I'm using a cleaner amp/ just breaking up amp. I've also used it as a solo boost before...although that's not the best application imo.
Overall it's a pedal that I really dig, but some people may not. It's especially nice when practicing at home because it beefens up the tone at low volumes, and adds that low end that makes up for the lack of a bass player when practicing. It also seems to be pretty transparent, which is a bonus. I prefer to run it at 18volts for the extra headroom, but it's still pretty sweet at the standard 9volt setting. I haven't messed with the internal dip switches yet.
Sorry for the long reply.

NICE!!!

I've been using an apogee one for a few months now as well. Love it, so useful. I had no idea about that Spazmatics "gig," I also always thought that it was just one band.

Love the board, very practical and looks good!

There's one here too.......house band for one of our metal weekend clubs. Tripped me out, had to roll back up and see if OP was here. :D

no. thanks for the long reply actually. I recently picked one up, and was kind of torn at first. I thought it would be a much more subtle effect and mainly just a clean boost. I thought it wasn't going to work for me at first, but its oddly addicting. I can't seem turn the damn thing off now

Killer looking board Trent. Really dig those new boards rooster is making!

Thanks for the kind words aswell!

I don't think it works as a "clean boost". I think of it more as a "girth boost" hahaha.

Actually, that's a pic of a band I was in from 1999 - 2002. It was an all original "Nerd Metal" band in Atlanta. We had absolutely no draw until we started dressing like fools
