Rust in peace changed the way I looked at megadeth. RIP Nick, feel horrible for his family especially his kids, way too young

Rust in Peace is pretty much the only way I look at Megadeth. The drums on that album are of the hook. RIP

Bummer! Love Menza, he had a unique and powerful style. Fantastic drummer a huge loss to the metal world. Mustaine should have given him another shot, nobody played the songs he wrote properly!

Some of you may remember I played in a band called Deltanaut for years with Nick. He was a good friend and phenomenal drummer. Today has been a rough one. Just got home a gig. I mainly feel bad for his boys :(

I'm sorry for your loss man, how old are his boys?

Thanks man. Young enough that this is going to be a huge deal and old enough to feel the full extent of this. Sorry but don't really feel comfortable talking names/details on here about his kids, I dunno Nick would've liked that. He'd bring them to rehearsals sometimes and I'd been over to his house a bunch of times, etc. I wish I'd gone to see him last night but I had a gig earlier yesterday too. Hindsight is 20/20. Fuck I had to kinda keep it together today as had to work but ya. Was a pleasure to work with him and this really sucks.

Rip.

Rust and Countdown were big records in my life.

Check out From the Vault on Youtube, basically hours and hours of backstage footage, hotel room shenanigans and soundchecks from Megadeth during the Rust years. Nick looks like he would have been a blast to hang out with. RIP.

It just blows me away how this year has gone. Hasn't really been about half a year. I mean to lose Lemmy, Jimmy Bain, and Nick Menza from the metal world is huge on it's own. As a musician when you add in Bowie, Glenn Fry, Prince, Weiland, etc., I mean that is just unheard of. A lot of these guys were leaders in their bands/genre too. It seems like every week you turn on the T.V. and someone else has passed away.

I doubt that's how Poland sees Deth, and I see it much the same way. Everyone has their favorite but there is only one true Megadeth.
