sounds like fun! I haven't watched Dave for >20 years, I'll tuine in for this

Was RAD! I was going to bump my own thread on this, but I can't find it. All of drum solo week has been pretty amazing. Niel Peart wins though. People should youtube it just to see the guy play his rediculous rig. Or check out the interview in the "Moving Pictures" thread. This guy has like drum virtuoso OCD or something. Pretty amazing musician. I don't know if he's better today than when he first did "Didacts and Narpets," but he's no worse either. RAD little solo. I'd probably buy this guy's solo album if I saw it Fye for $9.99, which isn't saying much, but I would buy it.

He's in the top three greatest rock drummers that ever lived. What baffles my mind me is that he barely sweats, if at all. When we saw them last summer it was brutally hot and humid in an outdoor venue. He barely sweat then. Alex was completely soaked. He's always been great. It's no effort at all for him. He could play in his sleep.

I am in awe of his talent every time I see him play. He seems to consistently play patterns, grooves and fills that no one else would think of, but after hearing them in the context of the song, nothing else would ever fit as well. He's a machine with soul and feeling. Tasteful and precise. I swear he can concurrently play a different time signature with each appendage while thinking about another one. Flat, friggin' amazing

He can. Each of his limbs have their own brain. He's really a drum playing Alien.

+1 Without John Bonham being alive I would say Neil is 1st….although I would put Neil first just for style and time changes but it would be close.

Even my 16 and 17 year old are wow'd by him.

It's hard to compare Bonham and Peart. Both are awesome indeed but have totally different styles.

Agreed

Impressive performance from the Professor. I was interested to see what he was going to play. Pretty cool to see him getting some coverage on TV.

I started another Rush thread the other day, and I'm having a hard time believing there are only 10 Rush fans on Rig-Talk.
