To buy, sell, or trade in this section, you must have at least 50 posts and have two-factor authentication enabled.
That’s understandable. If I didn’t have one I would be all over it. Hard to find them in great condition. These (and the 80’s) the pcm 90 and the 70s are all increasing in value as time goes on. They all have the lexicon sounds (and different capabilities), and I’ve really never heard anyone replicate the algorithms in them. Even the lexicon plugins don’t sound like the units. They’re an important part of a studio and I keep mine on a remote controllable patch bay to feed into a vocal mic or an amp. They seem to just work on everything. It’s a great sounding unit but it’s just not for me anymore. I have no desire to build the rack I once did. It needs to go to a good home - it’s a mint PCM81.
Are you dead set on the price?Item Description
Like new.
Never racked.
Yes. You read that correctly. MINT. It still has the original screen protector on the LCD screen.
What’s included:
- One Never Racked Lexicon PCM81 in perfect working order
- An original lexicon printed instruction booklet
- A dual FX card with original card holder (RARE)
History of Mint Condition:
I purchased it in non-working order as one of many backup units being sold by a top-tier studio out of New York. This one had a bad gain pot that needed repair and I purchased it in need of repair intentionally. I sourced a service manual and repaired it with the correct OEM part. I am only the second owner. I am certified to repair as I hold an MSEE. The unit works perfectly and because of the extremely low hours, the display is very bright which is unheard of for the units of this age.
The dual FX card was sourced out of Canada and works perfectly. I’ve owned the unit for 5 years.
Pricing:
I’m selling everything together - One original instruction manual, one mint dual FX card w/ case, and one mint never racked PCM81. No I will not sell the card separately.
$1500 plus shipping, lower 48 only.
I accept PP/PP gift, Venmo friends/family, or Zelle. You’re welcome to pay the 3% fee if you desire it.
Items I’m interested in:
A like new line 6 helix rack unit. I’m starting a cover band again and need the versatility.
Summary:
You’ll never see a more mint condition unit for sale. The dual FX cards are equally as hard to find and only increasing in value.
The pair needs to go to a good home.
Pictures TBD.
Yes I am. Beat to hell regular ones with tons of miles go for $800-$1000. Every selector knob feels new and the screen protector is still attached. Yes I am dead set on the price and I will not be dropping it in the future. Are you dead set on the price?
I have had countless rack effect units and there are only 3 I would never consider get rid of. This is one of them. GLWS and whoever gets this will love it.Yes I am.
