SLOs can take KT66, 5881s, and 6L6. Need to have mods for other tube types.

SLOs can take KT66, 5881s, and 6L6. Need to have mods for other tube types.

The new ones have to be ordered custom to accept the higher bias range from what I am told from the builder.

Hmm. Interesting. I've owned 3 previous (2002, 2008 and 2012) and those would accept any in the 6L6 range including KT66. Just a rebias needed. Of all those types I liked the factory Sovtek Wafer bottom 5881s best. So did Mike S as that's what they came with.
Good luck with the sale/trade! Heard good things about the new SLOs.

Yea, my old SLO was KT66 and really loved it. I really don’t want to move this amp, but COVID and 2020 have been harsh. If I can find a way to keep it I will!
