Bytor......Like I said in my post.....I still enjoy my tube amps and won't be getting rid of those any time soon. Hard to replace that but for what it is, but this works great for me and sounds superb. Axe and Kemper are also great tools. Nothing to fault for enjoying some time with some new tech. I have just really taken to liking many of the great tones from this app, nothing more than that.

Have you tried the app yourself?

:)

People have been fooled by modelers with forum mp3's since the POD 2.0 days (imo from memories past).

If that's your overall goal with the devices...

Yup. People have been doing the blind taste test since what, the late 90's? And some we're good enough to fool even then. Sound isn't necessarily the problem, it's the feel, dynamics, ease of use. I personally detest the Axe not because it I think it sounds crappy (it doesn't) but because I just personally hate interfaces like that.

I like real amps. Easy to use, easy to troubleshoot, and just fun to plug in a blare bad playing. :)

The thing about the clips is that you do not know how they were recorded. Therefore they can at best guide you to the potential tones a piece of gear offers.

I have the KPA and A/B'ed it to my Friedman. The sounds were a hair different but so close that no one could tell one from the other either by listening or playing.

After using an AxeFX II for almost a year with FRFR upgrade after FRFR upgrade, I realized that the Modeler approach just doesn't make it for me Live. Recorded its great, so You Tube and SoundCloud comparos just don't tell the whole story. I could have probably been happy using just a 4x12 on stage with the Axe 2, but it seemed a waste to haul a half stack and a Modleler... So Live it's back to a Half Stack and a Pedalboard.

Now a YouTube Video will not win me back next time, cause it's not the same as in a Band Context on Stage Live and Loud. Maybe old age will eventually bring me back, but for now I'm hauling a big old Heavy Diezel D-Moll Half Stack and couldn't be happier.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all! I will always have my amp and cab for this reason! It simply works and is easy to use without having to tweak and update constantly. I just like the Bias app because you aren't scrolling through menus with a wheel and looking at a small screen. Tap, drag, adjust and go. It's a pretty intuitive little app.

I took a chance at a smaller gig this weekend. I took the iPad and my interface with me and went for it. After I was hooked into the snake on the stage, the sound man came over and said "where is the tube amp, because that is what I am hearing?" Then he looked over and said, "no way......!" I know you get those results with the Axe, PodHD and Kemper, no question as they are great products...but it's nice to bring something as simple as the iPad and plug in without having to spend a couple of thousand on those other items.
