DEAD HORSE!!! god damed, i love dead horse. i was in rotting corpse with walter and john perez, brother. john perez and a bunch of us were talking about dead horse last night at the ride4dime party at the rail.

laughing my ass off right now.

use a tight gate up front before the amp input, i like the boss ns-2 or an alesis 3630. but the alesis is not really foot switchable. then throw an isp decimator in the loop to get rid of the preamp hiss.

edit, i scored one of the new mxr noise clamps recently. they freaking rule man. in front or in the loop. i love them. way cheaper than the isp decimator.

Well, after watching that Periphery video, I got a real nice deal on a Boss NS-2. I'm going to run the NS-2 in front and try my old Hush unit in the loop, and hope it doesn't blanket my tone. And it that don't work, I'll try the ISP or Mxr noise clamps. Rotting Corpe eh? Hell yea. You guys were cool as hell. Whatever happened to Morbid Scream? BTW, The Rail is the coolest club in the DFW area, Buster rules!

Try it without the Hush at first. If you don't have a noisy preamp you wont need a gate in the loop.

Can you please elaborate on this? I'm using the G-string with a combo amp in the effects loop just to try and cut down on noise, but it DOES squeal like a bitch on the gain channels & it's the only pedal in the effects loop. I run the G-string just as specified:

Guitar-->ISP "Guitar in" --> ISP "Guitar out" --> Front of amp, amp FX send --> Decimator IN --> Decimator Out --> amp FX return.

Thanks for the help!!

Anyone?? Bueller? Bueller?

wiring is correct. maybe you have a microphonic preamp tube or pickups too close to strings?

Thing is, the amp, while still being noisy, doesn't have the "squeal" without the ISP. I'm going to try putting another pedal in the loop. After that the amp goes to the tech...

About to head out to ship your NS-2 bud, will shoot you a PM when I get back :)
