Noise Gate Placement

My FX loop are rack level, don't take pedals so well. So I'm curious where to put my ISP Decimator II: in front of the amp before OD?

I have guitar > Shure GLXD > TC Spark > TC HOF > Dunlop Univibe > SD Vapor Trail > amp.

Generally, they go after OD/Boost/Dirt boxes and before modulation effects.
 
If you cant use it in loop use it at end of chain but before delay reverb as to not cut off trails.
 
If you add something like this to your effects you can put your pedals back in your loop.

I can verify this did work with my Rev 2 Uberschall. But also after figuring out what actually controlled my FX level (channel volume on a master amp) I was able to make some settings tweaks to where I did not need the line level shifter.

I use a G string 2 and it works great for both the loop and the front feedback regardless of what others have experienced but I have heard the Fortin Zuul can do the same thing while being in front of the amp.

Just a few other options to consider. Good Luck, noise can be a major pain.

It should be placed after the Spark.
 
I've always put it first in line, after the guitar and before my tuner and boost pedals and it works great. My effect are in the loop. I'll try it after the tuner and boost and see if there's a difference. But if it ain't broke...
