Hey guys, I'm considering to buy a noise gate. I was wondering what you would recommand me?

Thanks

Pretty common question.

NS-2 - Does the Job, kinda weak with really high gain. X pattern config possible.

ISP Decimator - Awesome but pricey.

ISP G string - Allows X pattern config.

MXR SmartGate - Not too sure about this one, not many people use it.

MXR Noise Clamp - Harsher, designed for stop/start percussive metal tones.

ISP Decimator = PERFECT. Don't look any further.

If you want something for the loop as well, go with the G-String or ProRackG-all the ISP decimator stuff, perfect.

I also use the decimator and love it. I have 2. For me they always seem to work best in the loop before delay. I run alot of preamp gain, but not more than most ppl I would say. I have shit electrical at my house and rehearsal space. Always just seemed more effective for me in the loop. Do need to turn it off for cleans tho.
