Hello.
Yesterday I gigged with drummer in small concert hall. Hall was enought to crank my 6534 to 2.5 volume. Gain was set at 6.5 .
My EMG was pretty quiet in term of hum/hiss but when I wasn't tuching the strings , amp squeled like a butchered pig , loud feedback. I can barely control this feedback by touching my strings and I must stand in certain spot far from amp. I know that 6505 series has very "noisy reputation" due to shitload of gain so this feedback was expected. When I turned gain to 5, feedback was completely controlled. So situation is pretty clear = too much gain, too much feedback.

I know there are few noisegates but ISP has the best reputation.
I thought about the regular decimator or g string. But recently ISP relanuched this two models ( II version) so probably - even better. G string is double the price of regular model but is really worth it ? I don't use any pedals if that matters , simple setup without any additional shit : me->guitar->amp->speakers. In near future I want to buy tc polytune tuner and this is end of pedals.
I don't use any boosters , I don't need them. I'm fully satisfied with my current tone.
I just want to calm this beast a bit ... So G string or regular model ?

You wouldn't need the G if you aren't running anything in the loop, just the regular.

MXR smart gate.
Run it in front if the amp.. First thing in your chain.
Removes unwanted noise/hiss but still allows you
to have musical feedback & does NOT squish or choke your
sound.

what about rack mounted units ? like p;ro rack and pro rack g ? Better than pedal versions ?

And G string will also some amp noise , not only guitar ?

The new Decimator II in front of your amp.

It works like the regular Decimator but it can be more powerful if you need. It will only take out the feedback or squealing, not the hiss. Since your ok with the hiss, try to avoid putting a noise gate in the loop of your amp (6505 series) it will suck all the dynamics of your amp. In my opinion you should stay away from the G String II and the Prorack G. Great products but from my experience they just don't work very good with those peavey loops.

Thanks ;)
You know it will be better to eliminate all noise , hiss also.
I don't use any other pedals so you know , I will probably have to set gate at 1/4 ...
I compared 6505 to my 6534 and holy shit , regular was just more noisier in terms of hiss. HUge drama.

This. I just got a Decimator pedal and gigged last weekend with it and it worked great. Tone did not suffer at all. And I ran a boost in front of a Rivera TBR 1SL and was very close to the rig. ISP Decimator gets my vote.

How about a midi controlled volume pedal in the loop - Volcano by sound sculpture, pretty handy for mute and solo boosts too.

Nah, I just want only noise gate :D

I now throwed RFT ECC83 in V1 , and feedback is better controlled but only a bit better. Thou I still ned noisegate. Period.

Ok then, I have a pretty great condition Rocktron Hush Super C - I could let you have at a decent price. Let me know.

I think the guy at ISP even designed the hush stuff, anyway, I didn't hear any tone suck on this unit when I was using it and it does the job for sure.

Nothing beats the ISP Decimators. If you need reduction after guitar and after gain stage in your amp get the G-String (I use G-Strings for everything), If only after your guitar then the regular one. I use the rackmount in the rack and pedals in the board...obviously ;)

Turn the guitar volume off or mute the strings with your palm.

Even if I palm mute my strings I still get feedback  but with high gain and cranked amp :)

I will buy G strings as soon I will sell older pickups and other shit. Thanks

Then you have a bad preamp tube or microphonic pickups. You mentioned checking V1 but you never checked the others, correct?

Find the solution to the problem - don't bandage it with a noise suppressor.

Proper technique and use of the volume knob should leave zero feedback or high pitched noises.

If the guitar has pickup rings try using longer springs or ones with more tension. Also take some foam (like from a Duncan pickup casing) and place it under the pickup. This will help the pickup from vibration. To test this, push on the pickup when you get feedback and are not playing.

Proper technique ? Well , I can't even control the feedback/squel when my gain is little above 6 and volume at 2.5 ... In this situation I recieve only feedback and It's hard to play.
The more the gain => The more the squeal

I guess this situation is pretty normal , 6505 series = shitload of gain , loads of noise.

I did a test :
I set my amp at 2 volume and 6.3 gain and I walked out of room and I closed the door. I can easily control feedback by muting my strings by palm. When I opened the door - squeal is back !  I notice I was outside of the room

Watch only the begining , that kind of squeal I have.

As you said, your problem is normal with these amps. It's your pickups that take the noise from the amp, active pickups are way more sensitive to noise waves. The more gain you apply or the more volume you crank and it will emphasise your problem. Let us know how the G string react with your amp. I had both the regular and the G string first and II gen + the pro rack G.

Again, the best for me was the Decimator II in front of my amp. If you don't boost the regular decimator will do the job and save you from spending to much money. Be careful of the hype of internet, too much time i bought something from youtube videos and realize that it didn't work as advertise or not that great with my gear.

You also get those squeals ?
You know , I compared my 6534 to regular 6505 and my amp was much more quieter(in term of amp noises like hiss etc) than regular model. I compared them at 1 volume(due to seller). So on the regular modle the situation is probably even worse

You said Decimator II ... This new version is better than regular decimator ? Probably , regular model I or II( non g) will do the trick for me .
