I wish I knew more about the different NOS tube brands. I get Mullards are normally associated with Marshall, but they sounded pretty good in a Matamp I had. These days I can’t really find anything better for V1 in my amps than just JJ. How would you rank some of these to a modern JJ? What would you recommend for a SLO style amp?

It's all personal preference my friend. Any of these tubes can sound great in an SLO, just depends what your ears like. Generally, all of these tubes are brighter and have more character than a JJ ECC83S. RFT typically have a little earlier breakup compared to others and a bit more of a vocal mid-range quality. Siemens are a bit more open and airy. Tungsram have snarl and grind.
