Peavey just announced on Instagram. $1200, looks to be for sale on Reverb. I’m not in the market, but I’ve seen some love for those on here before

It takes me back in my mind to the sound that used to come out of 70's Peavey amps.

Man, they sounded so awesome at home. Jamming along with records, ah, turntable tech I called it. When you got an album that was in the same tuning throughout the whole thing, I'd spend hours playing and that MACE and MXR Distortion+ gave it by the boat load. Those amps fit so well in the mix, it was blissful heaven. Then, the first minute of playing with another guitarist with his Marshall or Fender and all that Peavey love disappeared forever.

I had a Butcher when they were new, not a great amp. But the VTMs are really good budget amps. Throw a few mods at them and/or a boost and they're great !

I love me a butcher, but I would not pay that much for one.

There are a lot of amps for $1200 I would buy first.

LOL. These are the newest Butchers, not the 80's version.

that was gonna be my question. The 80's butchers were basically JCM800s under the hood.

I remember a friend in another high school band got a butcher and we were like... no way, their better than us now... lol I was playing through a Bandit 65 and the other guitarist was using his dads Mace. Florida was Peavey central in the late 80s

I had a mace in the early 80's ('82 I think.) Man was that thing loud.

Nice, now can we get a warehouse full of NOS blueface VH4s?

Edit: fully aware there is prob not a warehouse full of them total ever.

Those amps did a very convincing "Living after Midnight" tone

I'm *pretty* sure all Butchers (both old and new models) are USA made.

I've never even seen a "new" Butcher in person though.....don't think they made them long

considering you can get an open box second version butcher for $500 or so on eBay, they're outta their frickin' minds asking $1200.

I think it's a move of desperation. I think peavey is fucked in the near future. I give them 5 years or less.

That Peavey ‘undercover boss’ episode. Left a bad taste for me.
