Certainly a big improvement over the other clips I heard of it! I dig the low/mid gain tones. The higher gain tones leave a little to be desired to me but still, a very good sounding amp for that price.

Thanks Christophe. Got it on friday I think, modded it over the weekend (my daughter celebrated her birthday, so there wasn't too much time) and waited for some PCB-replacement pots to make it "clean" inside - those arrived yesterday.

I have yet to change the DPDT push-pull pot for a DPDT relay, but thats a 10 minute job - I'm thinking about to change the heater supply for something higher rated and then use the original heater supply for the relay (and a pink LED of course) Already got a small but 3A rated transformer for that.

I don't think that I want to make this my hobby - modding JCAs - but this might end on ebay later, we'll see - currently I'm enjoying those little things, but I also have a Herbert chassis here, which needs to be finished, so when my wife will notice that again ten heads or so are flying around in the house, some of them have to go . . .

Yeah it's an art form on its own, hiding new amps in disguise from the wife to notice.

Usually it helps to take them out of the shell and remove any brand plates, so they all look like electronic trash to them
