I got to see him live when he was playing in Marty Friedman's band; dude fucking ripped and looked like he could have been Marty's son lol
Jordan Ziff is an absolute monster player

The coolest part is loading your own IRs

I'm not a huge fan of the Friedman sound, but this seems like a solid product ?

Especially if the tubes are actually running at voltage
Some of the demos sound killer...reasonably sure this + a Power Station are going to become my gig backup; way more portable than a head and nowhere near the $$$ tied up in bringing an SLO30 with me which is dumb on a bunch of levels. JDub has his setup like that and it sounds killer, he's used it through a regular cab in a band setting and even the lo-fi recordings are impressive, I haven't been in the room with it though.

I have one and at first I was not so impressed. I was just playing through headphones on my boat and it sounded kinda brittle. I almost sent it straight back. Once I got home I tried it in the loop of my DSL50 and the thing kicked ass but the volume level was hard to control. Been using it for the last week or so into the PS2 and it sounds very good from whisper to roaring. Previously I was using an early 800 and a Mark IV blended at rehearsal. That doesn't suck and is tough to beat, but the IRX into the PS2 absolutely is a viable very good sounding versatile rig. Used it last last Friday and it worked well and is so easy and compact. My amps were in the room as well, but I was not using them, and I never mentioned to anyone that I was using the pedal instead of my amps. Later I asked the bass player if he noticed any change in my sound and he said it seems brighter and not as "dirty" on the lead breaks. ( the Mark IV lead channel adds that special sauce that was missing I suppose).

No amp or gadget is the be all end all and there so many viable options nowadays, it can be a slippery slope down the rabbit hole as we know.. Lol. . Cabinets and or speakers make a much or more difference in many instances than splitting hairs between amps of a similar flavor. But I have to say the IRX is a great piece of gear. Haven't owned a Friedman for about 20 years since he modded an amp for me way back but the IRX Makes me want a SmallBox, JEL or BE but not sure it would be that much better, if any than the IRX into a power amp? My conclusion IRX is a winner and a relatively inexpensive way to get legit tones.

I posted two videos earlier of my IRX. One of them didn’t get any notice. That said, here are two distinctly different results.

One is the BE and it sounds semi Petrucci using a Petrucci guitar

The other is the plexi.

I think this thing is awesome And incredibly convenient
