I guess the Peavey endorsment is history, this is from the Marshall site.....

Marshall Amplification plc is pleased to announce that Joe Satriani will be using a Marshall backline for new group Chickenfoot. The super group, made up of four rock legends, started the European leg of their world tour on June 20th and will be heading back over to the States in August to continue .

Joe contacted Marshall Amplification prior to the first show at the Nova Rock Festival in Austria in order to check out some new Marshall gear. Marshall took some amps to the rehearsals, and Joe loved the tone of the JVM410H. The man himself had this to say, "I'm just looking to achieve the best guitar sound every moment I'm plugged in and that brought me back to Marshall Amps."

Joe used the JVM410H for the show at the Nova Rock Festival and will be visiting the Marshall factory this week to have a look around and try out different speaker cabinets.

Would not have guessed the JVM, I would have thought VM.

He did use the 6100 Marshall for many years, back in the day when he had hair

I bet Hartley is loving this, not lol. I just saw on the Peavey site yesterday that ChickenFoot is All Peavey.

Yeah, I am sure he is loving it :scared:

Freaking Bugera making 5150 and XXX clones, EVH unloads with the 5153 with fender and now this..................now is a good time for booze for Hartley

Maybe a 6100 reissue/derivative will come out of it?

Butthurt JSX owners will revert to the "I bought the amp for the tone, not the endorsee" line of defense.

His best sounding album IMHO was Crystal Planet, had Marshalls all over it. At least, on that album he sounded less like he was playing through a Rockman.

Funny, i listen back to Surfing and i can't fathom how i ever liked the tones on that album. It sounds horrible to me now. Sounds like a Metal Zone goosed out Rockman.

In the end it all comes back to the Marshall....always. I still think the JVM has a ton of potential as far as a channel switcher goes.

They sounds better than Camerons as well...right?

I was never fond of Joe's tone with the Peavey's - never cared for many of his recorded tones either. Live, I've seen him with the JSX, which didn't sound that great. However, when I saw live him with the 6100 Marshall/DS-1, that was definitely the best tone I heard him with. I always was hoping he'd get back in the ballpark of that tone.

I read the GP interview celebrating Surfing and the dude had little to no money, his guitars were mutts and he was still teaching fulltime during the recording.

Yeah would have been killer with better tone but it was all that he had and I respect that.

+1.

I also liked his playing on "Echo" off of Time Machine. That's really the only tones I recall that I dig from him.

Does it not make sence since Joe has a pedal made by Vox, and there is a connection between vox, korg and marshall?

why wouldn't peavey have made that pedal for him? anyhow just a thought.

My old Cameron ? Well, yeah  how many hands has that amp been through by now? lets see, me, J.B., Kevin....who else ? I've made some dumb amp moves and as much as I miss having a Cameron around for Camerons sake - that wasn't one of them ;)

I own a JSX, bought it new in 2005.

I think I heard my first Satch song in.... 2007 (?)

I still like mine, and don't really care what Satch endorses. I bought it because I felt it was a warmer, thicker and less buzzy XXX.
